Oman and Kuwait Strengthen Ties with Strategic Talks

Oman and Kuwait have markedly enhanced their engagement efforts, re-echoing their already robust relationship during a high-level meeting in Muscat. Sultan Haitham’s representative, Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidy, the Minister of Interior met with Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud al Sabah, Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior to discuss the further improvement of the cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

The meeting was aimed at increasing the cooperation between the two countries in different aspects of life such as security, economy, and regional integration. Both the ministers agreed that more such efforts should be made to serve the mutual interests and to enhance the partnership for the overall development of the two countries. Some of the topics discussed included the ways to enhance the cooperation between the two countries in the light of the present and future regional and international challenges.

In their talks, the officials mentioned that Oman and Kuwait are two brotherly countries which enjoy historic friendly relations based on brotherly love and esteem. They described the future they envisioned as one of greater unity and integration. Other issues like the improvement of the economic cooperation and the control of the borders were also under consideration, with an emphasis on the preservation of the stability and development in the region.

The regular cooperation between the two countries in the region was also a topic of discussion and this included the maintenance of peace and stability in the Gulf region. Both parties stressed on the need to foster the relationship and to maintain contact in order to find solutions to the challenges of our time on the regional and international level.

The meeting ended with an agreement to stay in contact and build on the partnership in the future. This continuation of a close relationship between Oman and Kuwait is a clear manifestation of the two countries’ statesmen-like attitude, which guarantees that the relationship will only get better in the future.
