Moscow is beefing up its tourism ties with Kuwait as part of a broader drive to bring more visitors from the Middle East, reports said. The efforts have borne fruit in the tenfold increase in the number of Kuwaiti tourists to Moscow for the first nine months of 2024 against 2019. The Moscow City Tourism Committee has redoubled efforts in promoting the Russian capital as a luxury destination for Kuwaiti travelers.
The officials from tourism authorities ensure the visit of Kuwait guests in smooth with seamless access, bespoke hospitality services, etc. First and foremost has been that of facilitating the visas. E-visas have been set in place; moreover, talks about the visa-free regime are already continuing. Then, second, speaking on the air connectivity part: the fact of having at least eight flights between Moscow and Kuwait as direct started only by January 2025 greatly increased that aspect for me.
The city of Moscow will also apply an extension in Arabic-speaking services, creation of halal-friendly dining options, and further investment in luxury accommodations. The Moscow City Tourism Committee also launched new initiatives: a Muslim-friendly guide and immersive cultural tours catering specifically to Middle Eastern guests. The chairman of the committee, Evgeny Kozlov, outlined that Moscow offers a special blend of modern luxury and rich heritage, making it a topperb destination for discerning travelers from the Gulf region.
With its more upscale tourism and cultural appeal, Moscow wants to position itself as one of the leading destinations for Middle East travelers. The enhanced cooperation with Kuwait would further raise revenue in tourism and help consolidate the Russian capital’s places among the region’s best destinations, officials said.
