Iran Launches Powerful 3rd Maritime Drill in Sea of Oman to Strengthen Coast Guard Capabilities

Recently, Iranian coast guards have engaged in a major maritime drill in the Sea of Oman called the “Mohammad Rasulullah 3” (Prophet Mohammad 3), at the ceremony held at the strategic port of Chabahar on Friday. It was attended by top officials including Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Radan, who heads Iran’s police and many provincial military and police commanders. Under the motto of ‘Empathy and Authority for Security’, it was launched with naval units of Sistan and Baluchestan province and private vessels participating in it. The main aim of this drill is to keep the operational readiness of the coast guards of Iran at the highest level, to enhance their combat capabilities and to establish better relationship between marine units, coastal patrol teams and border guard forces. At the event Brigadier General Radan stated that the military is there to keep the adversaries at bay and to keep safe the sacred waters and lands of Iran. The drill is a part of the regular Iranian military exercises to develop the weapon systems and the combat readiness. To strengthen their military power, including missiles, and to defend the country, there is no intention to negotiate the defense policy, Iranian officials have reaffirmed it.
